Mutual Aid – Working Structure Fire

10/22/2011 – At 23:18hrs Stations 20,60 & 70 were dispatched to assist New Philadelphia and surrounding fire departments at 277 Valley Street (New Philadelphia) for a working structure fire. When PFD units arrived on scene they assisted with fire ground operations, additional manpower and scene lighting. Crews were faced with dangerous conditions inside the structure as the residence contained a lot of property which made the fire attack very difficult. Extensive overhaul was required to fully extinguish the fire and to try and prevent any rekindles. Due to the large amount of overhaul that was required, fire companies remained on scene throughout the night. At 05:10hrs, station 60 returned back to the scene with R-63 along with other fire companies to provide fresh manpower to complete final overhaul and extinguishment.
