8/04/12 – At 02:10hrs Rescue 63 was dispatched to 440 High Ridge Park Rd. to assist Cass Township units with a serious MVA with multiple people trapped.  Yorkville and Minersville rescue crews used various tools to free the trapped occupants which were then flown to area trauma centers. 06/01/2012 – At 15:25hrs, Rescue 63 was dispatched to 747 Port Carbon – St. Clair Highway in E. R.I.T. Training

05/20/2012 – City firefighters gathered on Sunday morning to train and enhance their RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) skills. RIT is a group of firefighters that are specially trained in the location and rescue of other injured or trapped firefighters.
